"I am simple and I am sincere, therefore my art is from my heart."
- Pina Bausch

Passed on from the most illustrious Sri Rajarajeswari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir and the Tanjavur Bani, Sandhya Keelery started her journey in Bharatanatyam at the age of eight as a disciple of Guru Smt. Vani Ganapathy and the Sanchari School of Dance.

Six years later, with rigorous training that went hand in hand with Carnatic music classes and academics, Sandhya did her Arangetram (professional debut performance) in 2007 in the prestigous Chowdaiah Memorial Auditorium in Bangalore. She went on to perform across the peninsula, including ICCR in Bangalore, Krishna Gana Sabha in Chennai, and the Mysore Association in Mumbai.

She moved to Hamburg, Germany in 2015, continuing her dance journey alongside raising a family. Her most recent performances were for the WIESE e.G. and the Bangladeshi- Deutsche Gesellschlaft e.V, Hamburg, thanks to the support and guidance of Smt. Katja Shivani and the Kalamitra School of Dance.

Her educational background in humanities, specializing in Communication Studies enables Sandhya in bringing a holistic understanding of her homeland to a global audience, extending beyond her 9 to 5 role in a leading market research firm.

Passionate about the Indian arts as a Hamburg-based dancer, Sandhya hopes to balance her time dancing in India and Germany, bringing Bharatanatyam and its multi-faceted life lessons to those willing to watch, learn, and experience it.
